Ok so this isn't another letter
to anyone. This isn't a petition to sign. This is just an observation that I made after the whole food
fight thing. Our school has 800,000 dollar cameras, and all these security
guards to make sure that nobody does anything wrong. For instance if
somebody decides to wear a hat in school the cameras will pick it up and the
security guards will go to work. In this case however the cameras were
used to identify those people who incited and participated in the food
fight. So they have the cameras and the ability to catch and punish
everyone who deserves punishment. However they still feel it necessary
to punish people who were not even in the building at the time of the food
fight. What I am speaking of is the cancellation of senior privileges following the food fight. The idea of punishing the whole for actions
of a few is a policy known as Collective Responsibility. Another group
used this policy during W.W.II. What was their name again?? Oh yeah
that was the Nazis. The Nazis practiced a policy of Collective
Responsibility. So if anyone ever asks you what the administration of
east islip high school has in common with the nazis just say
"collective responsibility". Damn Nazis.
